The Society, founded in 1975, promotes interest in family history amongst its members and the general public.

We invite you to visit our Research Centre with its library and search room.

We have Branches in Belford, Blyth, Belmont (Durham), Gateshead, Hexham, London, Newcastle, Pegswood (Morpeth), and South Shields.

The Society publishes a Journal four times a year.

We have a wide range of publications, parish records in particular, for sale.
